ENNISKILLEN- The Guelph Peak Performance Midget Gator girls got off to a great start on Sunday winning all 3 games at a 1 day round robin invitational tourney down in Enniskillen Township in Southwestern Ontario.

The Peak girls downed Brantford 4-0 in their first game of the season paced by Amy Campagnolo’s 3 hit shutout. Campagnolo fanned 3 along the way and was helped by a game ending double play on a line drive speared by Kaley Coish at short who threw to Tori Patteson at 2nd to double off the lead runner. At the plate the Gators jumped to a 2-0 first inning lead on a double by Emily Cava, a misplayed ground ball off the bat of Aaliyah Davidson and a long triple by Coish.
In the 3rd Sam McMahon drilled a two run homer plating Alissa Petrosoniak who had singled before her. Cava had a 2 hit game while Petrosoniak, Coish, McMahon, Melissa Cook and Alanna Hentges all had one each.

Next up the Peak Girls drilled host Enniskillen with a 15-0 drubbing. Petrosoniak and Jessica Turnbull split the mound performance and shut out for the 5 inning mercy shortened affair. At the plate Coish, Cook, Turnbull and Rachelle Washkevich all shared 2 hit games while Campagnolo’s long two run homer capped the scoring in the 3rd. Cava, McMahon, Patteson, Hentges, Petrosoniak, Davidson and Alex Dunbar all had one hit performances.

In the last game of the evening the Peak Performance Gators won a tight 2-1 decision over another undefeated team in Mississauga North. Turnbull started and fanned 4 batters over her 2 innings while Davidson finished up the win allowing only 1 unearned run over her 4 innings.

At the plate the locals broke the scoreless tie in the 4th when McMahon drilled another homer to centre field. Cava followed up with a shot to left centre for a triple and would score on an accompanying throwing error. Patteson, Turnbull, Washkevich and Coish again all contributed singles to the 6 hit attack.

Next up the Peak Performance girls are away on Tuesday night and then in a tourney in Brantford May 12-13. The home opener for the Gator Girls will be Tuesday May 15th at 8:30 PM at Exhibition Park.
